This release is a reissue of Stacie Collins' self titled debut record from 2000. The reissue includes 7 bonus tracks consisting of alternative mixes and demo versions of songs from 1999 and 2000.

Before Stacie discovered the electric Chicago Blues harp sound that she's known for, she honed her craft in singer songwriter venues. The songs on her debut record were tested in listening rooms and acoustic venues prior to moving to forming her first band. In fact, most of this record was recorded before she ever fronted a band; hense the many acoustic based songs and ballads. These are the first songs Stacie and her husband / writing partner Al Collins wrote together. The first of many since their humble beginnings back in 1999/2000 when these songs were recorded.

This record has been out of print since 2003 when Stacie started performing with her band in Nashville, TN. Her style developed and became more electric after performing with a band and so the decision was made to keep this record out of print in an effort to not confuse the fans of her live band shows with this more acoustic based record. That said, the record stands the test of time and with so many people requesting Stacie to rerelease it, she is making it available once again through CD Baby.

This original version is only available as a download BUT... in the Spring of 2018 it will be released in cd form with 7 bonus / alternative tracks of some of the songs. CD Baby will distribute the record in the states and indie label Blue Rose Records will distribute in Europe.

"Taking inspiration from everyone from Merle Haggard and Buck Owens to Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams, Stacie Collins has come up with a rock solid debut. Collins meshes classic country with bits of roots rock, folk and blues resulting in a disk that runs the gamut... If you want a disk with substance and not just a bunch of cookie cutter radio country then check out this gem."- The Music Korner

When she was a little girl, Stacie Collins lived above the bar where her mother worked as a waitress. While other kids were playing with dolls and trains, her main source of entertainment was the magical, glowing jukebox that reeled and rocked downstairs until way past her bedtime. In one of Collins' earliest memories, she's dancing on the bar's pool table, collecting quarters from bleary-eyed customers and then stuffing them, spellbound, into the neon-encased Rock-ola. It's no surprise then that, years later, Stacie would end up onstage, performing original songs that draw their life-blood from those honky-tonk jukebox classics.

Born in Muskogee, OK and raised in Bakersfield, CA, her childhood and teenage years reverberated with the honky-tonk sounds of Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. A move to nearby Hollywood in her late teens put Stacie in touch with LA's burgeoning rock scene. Obsessed with both the twang of West Coast country and the balls-out energy of Rock-n-Roll, she picked up a blues harp and right away started attracting attention. Being a female harp player still makes her something of a rarity, especially in her adopted hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. "My Dad played harmonica", Stacie recalls, "and even though I didn't know him very well because my parents divorced when I was 5, I felt like that gave me license. I had inherited a gift. After learning to play, I fell in love with the Chicago Blues sound and players like Little Walter and James Cotton. I had found my muse."

Upon arriving in Nashville in 2001, Stacie quickly proved that she wasn't your typical Music Row twangstress the moment she stepped back from the mic and unleashed her high-spirited energy on a mean little blues harp. Full of attitude and flair, blowing harmonica is her calling card but it's Collins' soulful voice and gritty songwriting that creates such a broad ranging appeal.

A sample lyric from "It Ain't Love" warns that, "It ain't the fall that kills you, it's the kiss of the cold, hard ground / it ain't the whiskey that makes you crazy, it's the pain that you're trying to drown." Lines like those combined with her live-wire stage show caught the attention of Dan Baird (of Georgia Satellites and Yayhoos fame) in 2003, and he signed on as producer, guitarist and mentor.

Baird, who also produced Chris Knight and Blue Mountain, put Collins in the studio along with a crack backing band that included blues/rock guitar hero Ken McMahan (The Dusters, Trent Summar) and drummer Paul Griffith (Allison Moorer, John Prine). The association has done her good. Her new CD, The Lucky Spot, is a ten-song Southern Rockin', Twang Bangin' Blues romp. If it had been released twenty or thirty years ago this recording would sound as natural on good-times 70s FM radio, alongside ZZ Top and The Rolling Stones, as it would next to recordings by retro-rockers like The Black Crowes and Jason & the Scorchers. As it is, Stacie's sophomore record ensures that her voice will add to a growing chorus of contemporary, heartfelt rock and country artists.

In October 2001, Collins released her self-titled, self-produced debut recording which became one of the most requested CD's on Americana and College radio stations and quickly climbed to number 46 on The Album Network's Americana Roots Chart. Gigs throughout the United States and Europe soon followed.

With the release of her new CD The Lucky Spot and another European tour on the horizon, 2007 should prove to be an exciting year for Stacie Collins. If you get the chance, this is one show you won't want to miss. Come witness!

The info above is from 2007. Stacie will release a new record in 2019

DVD + Bonus CD (2 disc set released 2013):

SHININ' LIVE! " It doesn't get much more alive than this" - The announcer was spot on! Only having been there in person could be better than this blistering dvd/cd package by STACIE COLLINS & her band THE AL-MIGHTY 3 taken from their soulful appearance in October 2012 at the legendary Bootlegger's Bar in Kendal, England. This powerful woman from Nashville, TN has released three studio albums but Stacie Collins on record and Stacie Collins live are two very different animals. The extensive presentation on SHININ' LIVE! shows clearly what a powerful, intense musician and entertainer she is, with deep roots in American roots & blues rock.

In 2012 alone, Collins and her band crossed the Atlantic four times to play more than 80 shows in eleven different countries. And by Fall the time had finally come; Two shows in one of her favorite venues, the venerable Bootlegger's Bar were filmed and recorded and are now available in the great DVD/CD package that is "SHININ' LIVE!". It's the first live release of this passionate and authentic performer. Stacie Collins and The Al-Mighty Three are pulling out all of the stops and then some. That's how we come to witnesses to this extraordinary, loud, bad-ass live show that captivates and moves the audience in a major way. To quote the album sticker: This is is first-rate "Southern-Rockin', Harp-Howlin', Twang-Bangin' Rock'n'Roll".

On the CD's and DVD's 15 tracks Stacie Collins sings, growls and howls for 80 minutes like a woman possessed, works her blues harp harder than many crack players and leaves the Al-Mighty Three plenty of room to shine. Husband Al Collins is an extroverted, always moving bassist, often joining in on vocals and sometimes using his instrument as a rhythm guitar. He and young drummer Brad Cummings make for a great team in the engine room, keeping the motor running. Guitarist Jason Graumlich contributes his considerable skills on lead, slide and rhythm guitar, rounding out the band perfectly. Together they play mostly original Collins/Collins compositions including the previously unreleased "Get In Line" as well as material from her last two albums plus a few choice covers.

The show opens with the cracking "Baby Sister" and a revamped version of Wille Dixon's "I Don't Care Who Knows". Next is a rollicking version of "Ramblin" into "I Won't Do You Like That" which is undecided whether it wants to sound more like the Stones, the Faces or the Black Crowes. Quickly moving on, the show blasts into the electrifying "Hey Mister" and the slow blues of "Get In Line" which Stacie presents as a seductive blues vamp. "If You Wanna Get To Heaven", an Ozark Mountain Daredevils cult classic from the 70s, is sung with a lot of heart by Al Collins and finds the band jamming for more than six minutes. "Carry My Away" is clearly country-influenced as is the hymn-like "It Hurts To Breathe" on which Jason Graumlich shines on guitar. He also picks a mean twang guitar and acts as Stacie's duet partner on the Gram & Emmylou number "Ooh Las Vegas". "Don't Doubt Me Now" is a mean straight & dirty rocker with British cult guitarist Paul Guerin (Quireboys / Bap Kennedy) guesting. Jimmy Reed's version of "I Ain't Got You" is quite tame compared to this cover and provides the backdrop for one of Stacie Collins' legendary harp-playing, 5-minute-long dancing walks through the audience, atop the bar and back to the stage. Needless to say, it's a spectacle to behold! In closing the boogie stomp of "Show Your Mama" segues into a 9-plus-minute-jam ending up in The Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash". On the CD you'll get one more song for a spectacular finish, AC/DC's "It's A Long Way To The Top" (but you'll be missing "Ooh Las Vegas" which is exclusive on the DVD).

ROLL THE DICE: CD

On Roll the Dice, Collins rocks with fury, then spreads out over an expansive roots music terrain. Her 4th studio record has what you'd expect from Stacie Collins and also a few left turns. It's a fine blend of 70's flavored rock-AND-roll mixed with gritty-blues and old-school-country like her previous releases BUT on this record she has taken a few turns off of her usual path yet never straying too far.

The latest iteration of Collins’ badassery is Roll the Dice, her fifth album and the best-yet showcase for her exuberant, harmonica-drenched, cocktail of rock, blues, and Americana. For this one, Collins brought in her bass-playing husband, guitar slingers Dan Baird (The GA Satellites, Homemade Sin) and Audley Freed (The Black Crowes, Dixie Chicks, Jakob Dylan), drummer, Brad Pemberton (Ryan Adams, Patty Griffin) and other master musicians. “With players like that, the energy comes from the music, and it becomes all about heart,” she says. “You leave your brain somewhere else. I don’t know how to classify this stuff, but people say it’s unique and familiar at the same time.”

The album showcases Stacie's harp playing and uses a bit more acoustic harp than previous recordings, which gives the the record a more diverse pallet of sweet and dirty harmonica tones. Guitarists Baird and Freed weave their parts together perfectly, filling out the left and right speakers to compliment Collins' soulful vocals. The rhythm section of Brad Pemberton and Al Collins lay the foundation and Michael Webb tastefully adds a touch of B3 and accordion. In Stacie's words "They're the best damn band a gal could dream of".

Overall, this is Stacie's most interesting and diverse record to date, giving her long time fans what they expect and then some. This will also be her first official vinyl release which is sure to make some audio-file fans very happy. So take it for a spin but hold on with both hands. There are gonna be some twists and turns!
